Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) sees a first success in his trip to the USA. There were intensive discussions with high-ranking representatives of the aircraft manufacturer Boeing.

“It was promised to get involved in Brandenburg,” said Woidke on Wednesday. Details should be given later. First, the RBB had reported about it.

According to the State Chancellery, the conversation also took place against the background that Germany wants to buy 60 Chinook transport helicopters from Boeing for the Bundeswehr. Some of these helicopters are to be stationed at the Holzdorf location on the Saxony-Anhalt-Brandenburg border.

The Prime Minister also announced that a high-ranking representative of Tesla had been spoken to. The electric car manufacturer confirmed that the factory in Grünheide, including the battery factory, would be built as planned.

Woidke and Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach (also SPD) want to promote Brandenburg as an industrial location in the USA until Friday. Especially in these times of crisis, it is important to strengthen international economic relations, Woidke said a few days before the visit abroad.

According to the information, another item on the agenda on Wednesday was the visit in Fort Worth to the US armaments company Lockheed Martin and the manufacturer of business jets, the Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. Woidke and Steinbach also want to talk to representatives of Rolls-Royce. The engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce is based in Dahlewitz. Lockheed Martin is to deliver new combat aircraft for the German armed forces.
