WKE ’16 puts Winsum on the rack

Winsum was completely unable to cope with a superior WKE ’16 in the first half. The score was no less than 5-0, to the satisfaction of the new coach Björn Zwikker at half time, thanks to a genuine hat trick from Devando Fik and two direct goals from Lorenzo Hindriks, they were already in a winning position. In the calm second half, Winsum was allowed to save the honor through substitute Sam Kamphuis: 5-1.

Devando Frit did not betray the trust of his new trainer Björn Zwikker. Zwikker awarded the youngest member of the Fik family a starting place for the first time this season. He seized the opportunity with both hands by scoring a flawless hat-trick in fifteen minutes. “This feels very good,” Devando Fik responded with satisfaction. “Everything went well in the first half. The first goal in particular was a very nice goal in my opinion. I think they can’t ignore me now”

In addition, Björn Zwikker’s debut as head coach of a senior team was of course also a complete success. Zwikker was successfully approached because the then trainer Albert Koops did not receive a dispensation from the KNVB as of January 1. “This is certainly a great debut,” beamed Zwikker, who was very successful in the past as an active footballer at WKE, “I had not counted on such a big victory.” Zwikker will remain with the Emmer first division team for the rest of this season. , but do not yet know whether he will be in the group next season. “I don’t know whether it can be combined with my other work (Zwikker is also a trainer for the Youth Under 16s at FC Groningen). We will sort everything out at the start of the season.”

The big defeat was quite a blow for Winsum. The formation of coach Fred de Boert, who left for Leeuwarder Zwaluwen at the end of this season, played a good role in the then Saturday first division for years. This year, because it is not a traditional Saturday club, it will occasionally have to compete in the newly formed first division with Saturday and Sunday teams on Sunday afternoon. However, a few board members present prefer to play the matches on Saturday. “I’m not very happy about it,” said substitute Raul Bello. “We can’t go out if we have to play on Sunday. But of course we can’t go out on Friday if we have to play on Saturday, haha.”

In the first half, Winsum was completely declassified by WKE ’16, which had run out of steam. After the restart, WKE ’16 logically slowed down. “We could just as well have put it in writing,” said Zwikker. To De Boer’s relief, the damage during that period was limited. “We did a better job then. However, before half time we were outplayed by a very good WKE. It is important for us to regroup next week.”
