With which transport do you complete the La Vuelta team time trial circuit first?

It’s not faster than the private motor vehicle, but that shouldn’t be your primary goal either because the bicycle has a much more edifying mission: to become the means of transportation that leads a new front in which the sustainability and the health are in the foreground. Hence, more and more, it is consolidating -exceeding 325,000 users in 2022 and with the projection of reaching half a million- as a great alternative to public transport and, above all, to private motorized transport.

And, despite not being the fastest means of transport, the times taken in the three outings are not far from those achieved by car: an average difference of approximately five minutes, which is even more meritorious if we take into account that the circuit base is 400 meters longer than the route with a motorized vehicle and that, although this editor has tried to find the perfect formula, not all the route is ‘cyclable’ and on rare occasions, you have to get off the bike and start walking with it when you step on the sidewalk.

And it is that in this route power has prevailed circulate as much as possible on bike lanes and, furthermore, wearing the suit of a neat defender of the compliance with road regulations.

In other words, without that Barcelona bull that the sidewalk is pedalable, that the red that matters is the red of the traffic light of the person who is crossing and not the one in front of you, and that if there is no one around you -and passing through sections at times of the Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, it must be recognized that it looks like a moor- it is always green. Come on, as if I were a native of Berlin and had a son whom I don’t want to lead down the path of perdition of Mediterranean semi-anarchy, which, by the way, that Iberian side is light years away from other countries in the south of Europe.
