With Lahm, Kahn & Co.: DFB forms two commissions for future planning

Take a frightened (but fortunately only for a very short time) reality-focused football association that has been successfully circling around itself for years and is primarily concerned with maintaining power and job squabbling.

Add a good half dozen more or less successful ex-soccer players and officials, mainly from the two clubs that are least interested in strong Bundesliga competition*, plus other competence beacons (e.g. the Neu-Stuttgarter, whose recipe for the future is “Back into the clique!” is … or the ex-Leipziger, who has recently been responsible for the football advertising of an Austrian gummy bear extract manufacturer, which of course means he has an increased interest in a strong German national team).

Mix those two components and add a hefty dash of past failings.

Stir several times and simmer in its own juice for a few months – done.

What? Is that the recipe for future success soup?
No of course not. But “cold Lurch from yesterday” is supposed to taste pretty good too….

( *And that’s why BVB and Bayern are, in my opinion, ZERO interested in strengthening and realigning the youth work in other clubs – which would be urgently needed! Not necessarily with regard to 2024, the move is 5-8 years ago crazy, but at least for the time after.)
