Slow return to normal: soccer player Florian Wirtz has now officially started his work at Liverpool FC.
The English champion published a video on Instagram on Tuesday that shows the newcomer together with teammates when entering the LFC training ground. Wirtz was received by the typical British rainy weather. As the Liverpool Echo reported, after the tragic death of Diogo Jota on July 3, only training was only being trained behind closed doors.
In the first test game of the season on Sunday at Preston North End (3-1), Recordman Wirtz was still missing in the team of team manager Arne Slot.
According to media reports, the Reds transferred around 150 million euros to the midfielder to Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old had only said goodbye to his old club on Monday in an emotional video message and, above all, thanks “for the love” of the fans.
After the season preparation on August 10th in the Community Shield-the English Supercup-against FA Cup winner Crystal Palace, Wirtz could complete his first official competitive game for Liverpool.
Five days later (August 15), Liverpool starts the Premier League and the mission of successful title defense with a home game against AFC Bournemouth.
