Short tracker Anna Seidel will take a break from competitions in the coming season. The 25-year-old from Dresden announced this on social media.
After more than a decade of intense competition and daily training, she realized some time ago that “that I have reached a point of physical and, above all, mental exhaustion”, wrote the two-time EM second of 2021 on Instagram. That’s why she wants to skip the upcoming season.
Three times at the Olympic Games
She wants to take her time “to get back to that spark that has been driving me forward for the past few years”, added Seidel. She looks forward to her”future journey on and off the ice”.
Seidel has taken part in three Winter Olympics in her career so far, and she was 15 when she premiered in 2014 in Sochi, Russia. At that time she was considered an exceptional talent in her sport.
