Winter sports on ARD – More than 200 hours of live sports on Erste

The first winter sports enthusiasts have already started the season – and the TV winter sports holidays begin next weekend on Erste.

With the weekend 25/26. The new winter sports season begins on ARD in November 2023. The Sportschau will then report on competitions in around fifteen winter sports for more than 200 hours of broadcasting on the first in the coming months. Many events are also planned for the ARD media library and sportschau.de in a web-exclusive stream.

Highlights: Four Hills Tournament and Biathlon World Cup

In addition to the Four Hills Tournament – ARD broadcasts the competitions live from Oberstdorf (December 29th) and Bischofshofen (January 6th), the sporting highlight of this winter is the Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic in February. In the first you can see the sprint and pursuit races, the women’s individual competition and the mixed relay.

The Tik Tok presenter format “Explained”, which launched successfully last season and deals with topics such as rules and historical events, will be continued.

In terms of personnel, ARD is entering the race with the popular winter sports experts from last season: Sven Hannawald in ski jumping, Felix Neureuther for alpine skiing, Erik Lesser and Arnd Peiffer in the biathlon competitions.
