Winter precipitation expected: slippery conditions are lurking in Drenthe and Groningen

The winter temperatures are not over yet. After a night of 4 to 8 degrees frost, Thursday will start sunny in most places, but slippery conditions are lurking. Later in the afternoon, clouds will cause drizzle, Weeronline reports.

The north of the country already experiences clouds and moist air from the sea in the early morning. As a result, it can become locally slippery, especially in Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. Later in the morning, clouds expand to the center and south of the country and the temperature rises to a meager 2 to 4 degrees.

Rain

A spot of drizzle may fall from the clouds in the afternoon and evening. Due to the cold in the ground, this precipitation can cause slippery roads in the north and west.

The temperature will rise slightly on Friday and during the weekend, to a maximum of 6 degrees. The sun hardly shows, but it will be mainly dry.

Winter showers

From Monday, winter showers will move over the country from the North Sea. Inland it may turn white for a short time during a shower, but the snow will probably not remain. Winter showers and sunny moments will also alternate on Tuesday.
