The latest version of Windows is Windows 11. Windows 10, once brings the “last Windows” operating system, is officially coming to an end in October 2025. Microsoft would like everyone to move to the latest Windows, but not everyone will follow.
Now forbes mentions Microsoft’s latest, somewhat cold warnings. Redmond’s giant has published a new articlewhich tells about the risks that follow the use of the operating system that is out of support.
Of course, no computer stops working when Microsoft decides to support. Instead, the machine is gradually starting to become a ticking time bomb as the criminals continue to find vulnerabilities, but no one is no longer repairing vulnerabilities.
Microsoft compares the situation to leave the app, open at the front door of the home. A device that has dropped out of support online is like an invitation to attackers who seek to penetrate and bring the user or this organization’s information or use the device to help other attacks.
When cybercriminals know the Windows 10 support is coming to an end on October 14, they undoubtedly already feverishly seeking to get into these devices, hoping that the routes they find would no longer be closed.
Microsoft still has enough work to turn users. Statcounter following the market shares of different operating systems by Windows 10 is still clearly the most used Windows version. In February 2025, it accounted for in February 2025 and the Windows 11 accounted for 38.1 per cent.
If the total amount of Windows devices is about 1.5 billion, the Windows 10 will still have more than 800 million.
In some cases and, for example, with more special professional software, the Windows 11 transition may still be an impossible idea. So Microsoft offers the opportunity to prolong Windows 10 support for money. More about this opportunity will be discussed later this year, but at least for a civilian a year’s extended support in the United States, it costs $ 30, or about $ 28.
