“Hurry Up Tomorrow” is about a musician (Abel Tesfaye) who, after a traumatic experience (inspired by a real voice loss at a concert 2022), simply no longer finds sleep and embarks on an odyssey with a mysterious stranger named Anima (Jenna Ortega) who thought about knowing about himself.
The film is deliberately staged and is reminiscent of works such as “Persona” (1966) and “Phantom of the Paradise” (1974). The audience is invited to make themselves a rhyme from history.
Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, not only plays the leading role, he also participated in the script and contributed the soundtrack. Directed by Trey Edward Shults (“Waves”, “It Comes at Night”). The theatrical release is on Thursday (May 15th).
