Alcaraz did not get a good start to the game, at 0: 1 his opponent had three break chances – but the favorite fended off and was in the game. The British audience on the Center Court had to see how the Briton Norrie had no chance. After 28 minutes, Alcaraz converted his first set ball to 6-2.

Norrie makes too many mistakes to endanger Alcaraz

In the second round, too, number two in the set and world rankings took the service to the 2-1 lead for his opponent and seemed unstoppable on the way to his 19th victory in a row in Wimbledon. In the first round against Fabio Fognini, Alcaraz needed five sets, also against Jan -Lennard Struff and Andrej Rublev – and that day there were a few moments when he opened the door for his opponent.

At 3: 2, Alcaraz wasted again, but with an ace he destroyed another break chance and then brought the sentence to the finish because Norrie missed a few occasions. The local hero had some good phases (especially with the audience), but it also made too many mistakes – one of them ended the second round of 3: 6 from his point of view.

There was no break in the third set, but Alcaraz also dominated here. As soon as he switched to a gear, Norrie had a look – Alcaraz then made the preliminary decision with the break to 4: 2. After only 1:39 hours, the French Open Champion ended the game with its second match ball to 6: 3 in the third set.

“It was my big goal to reach the semi -finals here again, that’s very special for me. I am very satisfied with my level against a difficult opponent”said Alcaraz, who says with a view of the semi-final duel against Fritz: “The lawn is his topping, he is very successful there, I have to be ready for the game. It will be very hard.”
