I come out …

“A real fairground family. I am already the fifth generation that is at the fair. My daughter is also traveling through the country with her own cotton candy window, and my eleven -year -old granddaughter cannot wait to start now. In the winter you register for the fairs where you want to stand. If you have the highest bid, but that is always fun with other colleagues.

I like …

“Tasty salty popcorn, but I more often sell the sweet variant. I also regularly take a nice tuft of cotton candy, haha. Of course I do that to test if it is still good on taste, but secretly just because I really like it.”

My customers are …

“Of all ages. Some people have the idea that only children order a cotton candy, but that is really nonsense. We all also enjoy an ice cream? Surely nobody looks crazy. People especially come to get a bucket of popcorn or cotton candy or you would think again: Popcorn and cotton candy tastes everywhere, but that is not the same with his own recipe.”

The fair is …

“For all layers of the population. Hopefully it will always be accessible to everyone. The charm of the fair is that, even if you don’t have a euro in your pocket, you can still enjoy the cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately this is getting less and less. With some fairs it is searched or there are fences around it, that is so incredibly unfortunate.”

My day …

“Looks different every time. In principle, I am alone in the stall, but on busy days I often have help. Then my daughter or son -in -law, for example, jumps up. Often the fair will open around one hour. Once it has started, I often no longer come out of my stall until after closing time. Because you are over every week, I am nice to work in our man. And when the carpet is in our man.”

Downside is …

“Cleaning. After such a long day, everything has to be cleaned again for the next morning. With moist weather, the entire inside of the stall is sticky with spun sugar and I have to scrub well.”

The best …

“Are the happy snoons of the children if they get a cotton candy, that is priceless. At my stall it is always fun. There is a party atmosphere and that never bores!”
