Willem-Alexander and Máxima are going back to Greece in March

Willem-Alexander and Máxima were actually supposed to go to Greece in December, but that was postponed due to the corona measures.

Willem-Alexander and Máxima to Greece

Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou has invited them. Minister Wopke Hoekstra and three other ministers are also allowed to join. The visit is mainly to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. Topics such as innovation, sustainability, migration, human rights and the EU will be discussed.

The planning

The program is already broadly known. The royal couple will lay a wreath at the monument to the unknown soldier in Syntagma Square in Athens. Then they will proceed to the Presidential Palace to see the President and on to Maximus Mansion, the official state office, to meet the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic.

Lesbos

A visit to a children’s hospital is also planned. On the last day, the royal couple goes to Lesvos to discuss the reception of refugees.
