Will Porcupine Tree disband this year?

In a post, Steven Wilson threw in the information that this year’s Porcupine Tree shows could be “probably the last.” Their reunion, which brought the band members together again in November after a 12-year break, could soon come to an end. The singer also revealed further details about his announced solo record at the same time.

The trio released CLOSURE / CONTINUATION in June and five months later concluded their North American and European tour with a performance at London’s Wembley Arena.

“The (probably last) PT shows will be a handful of summer festival appearances”

In a New Year’s message to his followers on Monday (January 2nd), Steven Wilson first addressed his forthcoming solo work THE HARMONY CODEX: “In 2023 my new album will be released, a 10-part, 65-minute musical journey , which is difficult to describe. But suffice it to say that she’s different again, maybe even pretentious (in a good way!). It will be published by Virgin Music UK, more on that soon. Many more exciting things are happening (for me at least) but for now I leave you with my best wishes for the coming year, I hope it will be a wonderful year for you.”

Speaking about Porcupine Tree’s future, he continued: “The (probably last) PT shows will be a handful of festival appearances over the summer, check the band’s channels for more info.” The group has not yet commented on the hints.
