Hannover 96 is currently fighting for promotion to the Bundesliga. This is also the achievement of Marcus Mann, who could now bring in a lot of money.
Marcus Mann has been the favorite for the position of sports director at Red Bull Salzburg for days. According to a report in “Bild”, a transfer fee of around two million euros was discussed a week ago. The Austrian newspaper “Kurier” brings a new number into play: According to this, the Austrian league leaders would have to transfer around five million euros to Hannover 96 in order to buy the 41-year-old out of his current contract.
Mann should receive a contract in Salzburg until 2029. Red Bull managing director Stephan Reiter confirmed ongoing discussions: “He is one of those with whom we are negotiating.” There is no time pressure: “We want to bring the right man to Salzburg.”
But the 41-year-old still has something to do at Hannover 96, as partner Martin Kind explained to the “Neue Presse”: “There are still important things to sort out, it’s about our transfers in January, they have to be coordinated and prepared.”
In any case, it is assumed that the deal will go through. The “Salzburger Nachrichten” already spoke about Mann’s farewell game last weekend. Hannover 96 played against Bochum only 0:0. But: If Mann really leaves, the game in Nuremberg next Sunday could actually be his farewell.
A different caliber would be waiting in Salzburg at the start of the year: on January 6th, FC Bayern Munich will be coming to the Red Bull Arena for a friendly. 20,000 tickets have already been sold.
