On the 50th anniversary around two and a half years ago, company boss Helmut Schlotterer announced his plans to transfer the Bodelshausen-based clothing provider to the employees and to find a new managing director who would act in their interests, it was said at the time.
Schlotterer now seems to have found this with Patric Spethmann, as the trade magazine Textilwirtschaft reports. Spethmann, whose departure from Marc O’Polo was announced last week, is expected to take over as chairman from mid-2026. Schlotterer will remain Chairman of the Board.
The new boss comes from Marc O’Polo
Spethmann worked for the Stephanskirchen-based clothing retailer as Chief Operating Officer for almost seven years and was responsible for the company’s digital transformation during this time. Before that, according to his own information on the career network Linkedin, he was a member of the management team at the German home accessories chain Depot.
At Marc Cain, in addition to Schlotterer, only Dirk Büscher, Managing Director Sales & Logistics, is currently part of the management team.
Marc Cain has not yet responded to a request from FashionUnited.
