Hollywood star Johnny Depp is set to play a very special role at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards – namely that of the legendary MTV moon man, who previously only existed in the form of a trophy.
Only recently the famous “Moonman” was renamed “Moon Person”. According to reports from the VMA production, Depp is now negotiating an unconventional show insert with the producers of the show. He wants to dress up as a moon man for the award ceremony to surprise the audience on August 28th.
The actor has won five MTV Movie Awards during his long career, including Best Male Performance (2004 and 2007), Global Superstar (2010) and the Generation Award (2012) for his performances in Pirates of the Caribbean. He also received an award for best villain in Sweeney Todd in 2008.
After the legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp also announced a new contract with Dior. According to TMZ, he is said to have signed a multi-year, seven-figure endorsement deal to continue being the face of the male perfume line Sauvage. He also directs the film Modigliani.
