Will Gerard Ekdom become a plaything in radio war? “Radio 10 pelted!”

Not Radio 538, but Radio 10 has been John de Mol’s largest radio station for some time now. But how long will this remain so? There is a very painful FM change coming up…

The FM frequencies have been auctioned and Talpa Radio has managed to keep all three of its major radio stations on the air after August: Radio 10, Radio 538 and Sky Radio. There is only one problem: Radio 538 and Sky Radio will keep their current frequencies, but the Radio 10 listener will soon have to move to the current frequency of Radio Veronica.

Ugly radio battle

Which station will soon be on Radio 10’s current frequency? The new station Joe, also with golden oldiesmusic, but then from the major Talpa competitor, namely Qmusic parent DPG Media. This will be an ugly radio battle, thinks Patrick Kicken, the most important radio columnist in our country. “They are really going to suffer from this.”

Patrick points in his Mouthpiece column that former Radio 10 boss Roland Snoeijer is now with DPG. “He was also the regular for many years drive voice of 10, so if they are a bit smart at DPG (and they are): that will of course also be your regular station voice for Joe.”

Transfer Gerard Ekdom?

Roland also has enough lines within Radio 10, thinks Patrick. “So he can easily edit one or more jocks to really come and work for his club Joe, with another show on Q or something,” he writes. “The main prize for Joe, where money is no rolex, is of course… Gerard Ekdom.”

He continues: “If you conquer not only the frequencies but also the capital of Radio 10, then you have already won the battle for the 10 listener for 75 percent.”

‘Ten classics in a row!’

What will make this radio war for the golden oldies fan really ugly? Patrick prepares for Joe to respond hard to confusion among the listener by letting the number 10 ‘come back in all their design and items’ from September 1, the day of the big FM switch.

Patrick: “So that will be… 10 classics in a row! Chance to win 10,000 euros every day! The tenth caller wins! Call us now on 0900-1010. And as slogan ‘The greatest hits from the 80s to 2010!’”

Juicy!
