The fact that Florian Wirtz became such a big topic at FC Bayern was only due to the pronounced passion for collectors of Club patron Uli Hoeneß when it comes to German international-and not because the transfer for the squad planning would have made sense.

The fact is: Due to the burst transfer, FC Bayern not only saves financial headaches. Sure, Florian Wirtz has an extra class and can help every club. But integrating it into the team would have required either to change the well -rehearsed system in order to be able to appear with two tens, or to push Jamal Musiala on the left wing for Wirtz. A decision that the dribbler would hardly have met with enthusiasm shortly after his contract extension.

So instead of realizing an expensive prestige project for Hoeneß, the Bayern managers can now find the actually missing puzzle parts. It wasn’t Wirtz. The obligation of Harry Kane and the subsequent Titellose season already showed the damage that is too big a focus on a top transfer while neglecting the rest of the squad.

With Jonathan Tah (not yet officially) and Tom Bischof, there are expected to be two transfer-free reinforcements that give the responsible scope: Among other things, with Min-Jae Kim and João Palhinha, they now have at least the option of selling two players for good money that have so far not been able to meet expectations. The proceeds could now suddenly be used for reinforcements in several positions instead of just being part of the required Wirtz millions.

Without Wirtz, FC Bayern will have a more complete and therefore title -reiferous squad than with him. The failure of Real Madrid in the current Champions League season finally shows that the premier class is gained with clever squad planning and not with an indiscriminately bought Star team. The burst Wirtz transfer: he will be a blessing for FC Bayern.
