Wilfred Genee responds to the spicy gossip about his ‘birthday affair’. What does he think of that? “I don’t find it difficult for myself,” says the 58-year-old presenter of today Inside.
Wilfred Genee’s birthday party ended in the pub for a week and a half, but without his wife. He was spotted there with Cherise, who would have been the babysitting girl in Huize-Geee. Wilfred’s wife, Lili Genee, has spoken about this for ten minutes. “You don’t have to look much behind that,” she says.
Non-active
Wilfred now reacts indirectly to those gossip, namely when he is in his program The Friday Move Has a conversation with Dyantha Brooks, Wier Shownieuws colleague Manuel Venderbos has been put on non-active. “You certainly have to work more often now that one of your colleagues is put on non-active, right, or not?” He asks her.
Dyantha Lafjes: “Who then?”
Wilfred: “Manuel Venderbos. Isn’t it …”
Dyantha does or her nose is bleeding: “Is it on non-active?”
Don’t believe everything
Wilfred then points out that Manuel was never seen in Shownieuws again after his unveiling about Tino Martin. “I understand that. I read that everywhere, or isn’t that like that?”
Dyantha turns neatly neatly within the lines of Talpa and says evasive: “You know that you should not believe everything you read?”
Wilfred then refers to the rumors about his own private life: “No, I know for sure indeed. Hahaha.”
Dyantha teasing: “Do you believe everything we read? I have read things this week … If I believe everything, then ehh …”
Beautiful stories
Wilfred does lightly about it. “Yes, then you would indeed have very nice stories again, yes. Do you find that difficult, that it happens to you of course, things like that? That people say something or call about you what is not right at all?”
Dyantha: “Yes, but no matter how cliché it is: I think it is important that my family knows how things are and I think you should accept a little that it is part of it.”
Wilfred: “Yes, I think so too. It is the status that we have, anyway, as a well -known Dutchman? Then it is part of it that people are allowed to find everything about you, even though she’s nothing at all.”
Accept
You should not make a pip if you are a Dutch person, Wilfred thinks. “It is just part of it and you have to accept that. Especially if you present programs, as you do with people with an opinion and as I do with people with an opinion, then you sometimes get some reactions to that. Unfortunately, that is also okay again.”
Dyantha: “But you have a lot more experience in that. Do you find it difficult?”
Wilfred: “I don’t find it difficult for myself. I sometimes find it a bit more difficult for the environment.”
The truth
Yet Wilfred believes that that is also part of it. “Yes, at the same time I also think: I present a program on TV where people are taken the greatest size, not always entirely true, so then it just belongs to you experience things like that.”
Dyantha: “Yes, but if you experience something like that yourself, you will feel more sympathy for people who are falling in VI, for example? That you think of: yes, we might have done that a bit hard then?”
Wilfred: “Yes, sometimes I also think that we are a bit short here and there. But at the same time that is also the format, you know. I always keep it that it is entertainment and we try to stay as close as possible to the truth of course. Sometimes it is painful and sometimes a little less painful. But then you have to do something else.”
