A wildfire is raging along the Alderman Bergerweg in the Pittelose Park in Assen. Several fire departments are on site to extinguish the fire.
It is not yet clear how large the area is that is on fire. It is the third wildfire in two weeks on this street.
Earlier today there was also a fire on a meadow in Annen. The Drenthe Safety Region warns that nature is bone dry and that the risk of a wildfire is very high. For example, people are asked not to barbecue in nature or to throw away cigarettes in nature.
