A wild rumor has arisen about the German national player Nick Woltemade. According to club insider Simon Phillips, Chelsea FC is intensively looking into signing the 24-year-old from Newcastle United. Accordingly, Woltemade is on the “Blues’ list” and could become part of a swap deal.
Newcastle are reportedly eyeing Chelsea centre-forward Liam Delap. In possible talks, Chelsea could seek a swap deal with the Magpies, it was said. For the Londoners, Woltemade should move back into the center of the attack. At his current club, the fan favorite has recently rotated between offensive positions and the role as a substitute.
In 45 competitive games for Newcastle so far, Woltemade has only found the goal ten times. He last celebrated a brace in the English Premier League in December – against Chelsea of all teams. His time in England initially started promisingly. After moving from VfB Stuttgart, Woltemade scored four goals in the first five league games. Because of his size, he was nicknamed “Big Nick” and shot himself into the hearts of fans.
