Wild fireworks from Bayern Munich

The German club Bayern Munich started the new season strongly, as the team scored five goals in Frankfurt’s net in the opening period on Friday.

Bayern took a 1–0 lead after only five minutes had been played. Joshua Kimmich managed to score the opening goal of the new Bundesliga season.

More came a good six minutes later, when Benjamin Pavard gave Bayern a 2–0 lead.

Sadio Mane, acquired by Bayern for this season, immediately succeeded in scoring in his debut. Serge Gnabry received a pass behind the Frankfurt defense line and passed the ball straight to Mane inside the penalty area, who headed the ball into the goal. Mane gave Bayern a 3–0 lead with his goal.

The fireworks didn’t end there.

Jamal Musiala extended Bayern’s lead to four goals after just 35 minutes of the match.

Gnabry completed Bayern’s startlingly strong first period with another goal for a 5-0 lead.

Bayern won the match 6–1.

Arsenal in the lead

The Premier League also started on Friday.

Arsenal took a 1-0 lead against Crystal Palace when Gabriel Martinelli managed to put the ball into the goal. The pass was scored by the player acquired for this season Oleksandr Zinchenko.

No more hits were seen in the opening period, but the teams went into halftime with Arsenal leading 1–0.

Arsenal won the match 2–0, when Palace put the ball into their own goal in the second half.
