Ismaël I. (37) could not cope that his girlfriend was off. With a lot of beer and frustration in his body, he waited for her last February on just outside the center of Eindhoven and stuck her seventeen times with a large kitchen knife. The 36-year-old Bulgarian woman died in the hospital from her injuries. Justice demanded 22 years in prison against the man on Friday.
The case was extensively discussed on Friday in the court in Den Bosch. And, despite the fact that the Bulgarian labor migrant said that he did not want to stab his ex, of whom he still loved so much, the evidence was clearly demonstrating the opposite.
Camera images in the courtroom show how Ismaël will turn on his ex and her new friend at the cyclist tunnel from the center to the center to the Kruisstraat in Eindhoven and immediately put on his ex. Behind her was the man with whom she was in the pub that evening. After his act, Ismaël ran away and threw the huge kitchen knife away in a park.
Femicide
The story of the two ex-lovers is actually a classic, but then one from the femicide category, women’s murder. She did something he didn’t want. She ended the relationship and he couldn’t hurt that. They knew each other from their work at UPS and they both lived in a room home on the Kruisstraat in Eindhoven.
But there she was that fatal night from 3 to 4 February for ten days away. Ismaël tried to get in touch with her on Saturday 3 February. At first the messages were still pleading and submissive, but in the course of the evening they became more and more compelling and more angry and scolded her for ‘whore’ and said that ‘she no longer had to come home’. Between eleven in the evening and an o’clock in the morning he also called her dozens of times.
In a speech report from the woman, Ismaël heard that she was in the pub. He immediately went to Stratumseind where he indeed found his ex, with another man, as Ismael already thought. He walks straight at her and hits her. Her new friend jumps on his neck and together they fall fighting on the floor. Then both were put outside and Ishmaël went home half running, where he put on another jacket, put on a backpack and put a large meat knife in his pants band.
The camera images, which were shown in the courtroom, showed how Ishmaël then went to hang on the corner of Petersstraat and Kruisstraat. From there he could see exactly when his ex and that new man would arrive.
When the two came out of the cyclist tunnel, Ismael stormed at them and stuck his ex directly and called ‘go to death’. Eventually he put her in her torso fifteen times and twice in her arm and kicked her when she lay on the floor.
The new friend managed to escape, but in the meantime the woman died in the hospital from her injuries. Ismaël fled to family in Belgium where he reported to the police the following afternoon, when he was sober again.
The Bulgarian man was only timid in court and actually hid a little behind his interpreter. His voice was very soft and what he told was not much either. He did not remember much and therefore did not have many answers. Yes, he was sorry. And he wanted to stab his ex’s new friend, but he jumped away, causing her to stand between them.
The public prosecutor made minced meat from the defense of Ismaël I. The Bulgarian had sent threatening messages and even let them know that he would kill her. Several witnesses have heard that too, they said. And a roommate told that Ismaël would both kill if he found them together.
Premeditation murder
And if that can also be seen on images and Ishmael has clearly prepared it by getting a knife, according to the public prosecutor, there could only be one conclusion. And that is that Ismaël has killed his ex with premeditation. So murder.
He broke a brutal only 36-year-old mother of a son, the officer said. He therefore demanded a major prison sentence of 22 years.
The decision in this case is on February 21.
