Last year Meredith Gaudreau had to cope with the loss of her husband. Now she announced sweet news.
Almost seven months after the tragic death of NHL star John Michael “Johnny” Gaudreau there is an emotional moment in his family: Wife Meredith gave birth to the third child together.
As she announced on Instagram, her son Carter Michael was born – named after his late father. Carter is the third child of the couple after daughter Noa (born 2022) and Johnny Jr. (born 2024). “He looks the same as his dad,” Meredith wrote in her contribution to the birth.
Already at the funeral service in September 2024, she had made it public to be pregnant again. Ice hockey professionals Matthew Tkachuk and Cole Caufield also included the numerous congratulations for birth.
Johnny Gaudreau died on August 29, 2024 at the age of 31 in a traffic accident in his home country Salem County (New Jersey). Together with his brother Matthew, he was traveling by bike when he was hit by a car.
The American played in the NHL for eleven years and was not only known for his creative style of play, but also extremely popular with fans. Because of his spectacular game, he wore the nickname “Johnny Hockey”.
