In 2026 it is finally time again and you can definitely call it a sensation: System of a Down Return to Germany for almost a decade for two large stadium concerts. On July 8, 2026 play Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan im Berlin Olympic Stadiumtwo days later there is another open-air in Düsseldorf.
System of a Down have with songs like “Chop Suey!”,, “Byob” or “Toxicity” And the albums Toxicity (2001) as well Mezmerize/hypnotic (2005) played in the epicenter of the rock and metal world. One could not say that the band has been hyperactive since then. The band has not released a new studio album since 2005, apart from two individual songs 2020. Tours are rare – the greater the surprise and anticipation that they are now returning to Germany.
System of a Down: The sensation is (almost) perfect
The last appearances in this country have also been a long time ago. 2017 Was the last year in which you could experience soad live in Germany. At that time they not only played as a headliner Rock on the ring At the Nürburgring and Rock in the park In Nuremberg, but also gave a number of club shows in unusually small Venues. They performed within a few days in the Berlin Columbiahalle, the Leipzig Haus Auensee, the Muffathalle in Munich, the Wiesbaden slaughterhouse, the Nuremberg Löwensaal and the Cologne Palladium. For fans this was the last and unique opportunity to experience the band up close.
The fact that there have been a whole nine years since then has made the return in 2026 a real event. System of a down are now officially one of those bands that fill without a new album stadiums-and the Olympic Stadium is now really not an everyday venue for metal bands. Speaking of sensation: when would this be really perfect? If Soad also published a new album – but that should be unrealistic.
