I actually always go see the American songwriter and guitarist Chuck Prophet, who made some unbeatable records with Green On Red in the eighties, when he’s in town because I’m always in a much better mood afterwards.
During the last ROLLING STONE Beach, I was still under the influence of the concert that he had given a few days earlier in the private club in Berlin with his band Cumbia Shoes, which he had turned into a big celebration of (survival) with the songs from his album “Wake The Dead”, which he had overcome from cancer and was inspired by Colombian cumbia music.
I talked about this at the annual talk with festival visitors and quite a few wanted to see Prophet at the next edition of ROLLING STONE Beach. I’m very happy that it worked and that we can now welcome the man who can put on the biggest rock’n’roll show in the world even in small pubs to Weissenhäuser Strand.
There is no better remedy for winter depression.
