Because last weekend someone laid more than 1 million euros for it during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is not just a Halfste Mazda, this is an RX-7 FD Veilside Fortune Coupé from the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
Much wider than standard
The drift car was built by the Japanese tuner Veilide on behalf of Universal Studios. It is more than 20 centimeters wider than a standard RX-7 FD And only has two original body parts: the roof and the boot lid.
One of two Mazda RX-7s
Two of these RX-7s were made for the film, of which this is the only remaining. We previously called him a drift car, but the Mazda is not strictly speaking. The other RX-7 did all the drift shots, which is why it did not survive the film recordings.

This Mazda was mainly used for other rijshots and static recordings. Little has happened to the 1.3-liter Twinrotor Wankel engine with two turbos. It delivers around 280 hp, on a car weight of 1,050 kilos.
The IONIQ 6 N will be difficult to sell and Hyundai thinks it’s fine
After his film career, the RX-7 was sold to a private individual in 2008. Since a number of years he has been hands of a British owner, who has just driven it regularly. The Mazda counter is 107,480 kilometers. The car was extensively restored a few years ago.
