It was a very long relationship: Nancy Pazos and Diego Santilli were a couple for two decades, during which time they started a family and even had three children. However, those times are in the past.

Today the journalist, one of the strong faces of Radio 10 and the C5N channel, is one of the critical voices against this Government, to which her ex-husband has just joined. Politics is not outside the bond between the former spouses: Pazos, on the opposite side of the libertarian ideology, has publicly expressed his displeasure at the fact that their children view Milei’s government favorably.

The journalist herself told it, without filters, in an interview. “He became a strange human being for me, totally strange. He is also a bad influence on my children. They are quite libertarian. But hey, they are good people and at some point they will rescue themselves,” he said. Nicanor, one of her sons, later uploaded a post to his social networks that almost seemed like a response to his mother. Along with an image of him and his father, the post said: “The few hours of sleep. Walks and tours listening to the need, the difficulties and the sadness of the people. Withstanding the blows even from people from whom we least expected it, and yet you did not respond. You let your work and your dedication do the talking for you, and last night it was demonstrated with the majority of the support of the people of Buenos Aires.” It was not the only support from the children for the libertarian project: Teo, another of their children – who studied digital business – bet $200 on the $Libra crypto scam as soon as Milei promoted it. Like so many others, he lost the savings he invested, although it is clear that this did not make him lose faith in the current Government.

Today, with Santilli newly incorporated into the cabinet, Pazos is avoiding commenting on the intimacy of that bond. Close to the new Minister of the Interior they maintain the same position and hope that this fragile truce will continue for longer. We’ll have to see who both of their children vote for in the next election.
