During his opening speech of ordinary sessions in the National Congress, on March 1, 2026, the president Javier Milei starred in a crossing full of chicanes with the bench of the Left and Workers Front (FIT-U). Addressing especially to Myriam Bregmannational representative for the PTS-FIT, called her “Chilindrina troska” amid interruptions and protests from the opposition benches.

The moment occurred after questioning Nicolás del Caño for his electoral wealth: “Del Caño, if you were the representation of the workers… do you know that we would have a very serious problem? Because you are only 5%.” Faced with the cries of the left—including Bregman, Del Caño and Romina Del Pla—, Milei braked and said: “What’s wrong with you, Chilindrina Troska? What’s wrong with Chilindrina Troska? Because I can’t hear her. Come on, I kept crying, Chilindrina, come on.”

The origin of the nickname

The nickname was not a spontaneous invention of the President. According to what was replicated on networks, “Chilindrina Troska” was already circulating in libertarian circles and was popularized by the political scientist, comedian and content creator Luli Ofmanknown for its phrase “with yours, taxpayer.”

Ofman used the expression to refer to Bregman, combining an allusion to the “Chilindrina”the child character of El Chavo del 8associated with a crying or screaming attitude, with the word “troska”derogatory form of Trotskyist in reference to his militancy in the PTS. The fusion sought to ridicule her and minimize her political stance by mixing childishness with an ideological label.

The expression went viral with memes and images generated by AI, and Milei took it up right on the premises to respond to the interruptions, in a speech already marked by criticism of different opposition sectors.

Bregman’s reaction

The deputy ironically minimized the insult and questioned it for its sexist tone. In later interviews he said: “I gave him 2 and a half years to answer the cuddly kitten thing with another joke to match and that was all he came up with”; “It was just another joke that is still sexist”; “Since I do not have agreements with the caste, some grievance had to be done to me. I prefer to be the Chilindrina and not the Witch of ’71”; and “It took him two and a half years to think of a bad joke.”

Bregman also called the speech “an armed circus” with scripted applause from the ruling party.

The episode once again exhibited Milei’s confrontational style and the strong polarization in the Legislative Assemblywhere the left was one of the central targets of the presidential chicanes.
