‘Why is André Hazes Jr. always on holiday? Career in the doldrums!’

André Hazes Jr. is astonishing with his constant vacations to the United States. Shouldn’t he pull a little on his difficult comeback? “It looks bleak.”

It is a bit painful: André Hazes Jr. reportedly thought he was selling out three Ahoy concerts with two fingers in his nose, but it turns out that wishful thinking. So far one concert has gone on sale and they don’t lose the tickets to the paving stones. And in the meantime, the folk singer is just on vacation in America.

Andrew on vacation

Jordi Versteegden, entertainment reporter for De Telegraaf, finds it striking. “What I especially wonder: that Ahoy concert is still not sold out. That one concert. I think he actually wanted to do three concerts. And now he’s on vacation all the time,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.

He continues: “Shouldn’t you just be in the Netherlands to promote that concert? That’s what I wonder anyway. I think he needs to try a little harder.”

Pull it

Colleague Evert Santegoeds thinks so. “I think so too. He has to pull it and he is not used to that of course. It really is a matter of: this year it has to happen for André, or it looks bleak for that career. There better be a hit on that album.”

André’s new album will not be released until September. “I am very curious about it. That first single was not such a success, although he thinks otherwise. He was incredibly challenged to show a different side of himself for once. Well, he can do that better on an entire album than on a single, I think.”

Hour of truth

If that album is not a success either, then André is pretty screwed according to Evert. “It has been worked very hard by a team and then the moment of truth is also near for him.”

The editor-in-chief of Privé continues: “André Hazes’ career is not going very well. I’m glad I didn’t write a book about him, because I would also hold my breath whether people are very interested in that at the moment.

Oops, a stab under the water to Guido den Aantractor of competitor Story, who is working on a biography about André.

Not ripe

According to Private star journalist Jan Uriot, André just needs another one Job to search. He says in his podcast stage: “There are a lot of people who are not ready for this profession. You can see that with those two who go to the Eurovision Song Contest, but even with Hazes at the moment. He needs a whole court next to him to stay on that stage.”

He continues: “If you can’t do it without everything around it, maybe you should work in the snack bar.”

Colleague Marc-Marie Huijbregts: “Yes, maybe you are not made for it. Or just do something else anyway. “

André is more busy with his superficial trips to Las Vegas than with his ailing ticket sales:
