The “World Champions” of this year’s Sauna Infusion World Championships in Wendisch Rietz on Scharmützelsee (Oder-Spree) have been chosen: Róbert Židek from the Czech Republic is the winner in the individual competition, Yuma Kurokawa and Mayuka Sano from Japan are the winners in the team competition. This was reported by the President of the Infusion World Cup, Torsten Splanemann Du Chesne, on Sunday.

The best place from Germany went to Emma Eichhorn and Joseph Albeus, who came fifth in the team competition. Both work at the venue – the Satama Sauna Resort & Spa in Wendisch Rietz.

40 individual candidates and 40 teams from 16 nations competed against each other in the preliminary round since Monday. In the final, the last eight went into the race. According to the World Cup President, a total of 114 sauna masters took part in the competition.

The show infusions were evaluated by an international jury of 12 members, who paid attention to, for example, music, choreography, scents, towel waving techniques, costumes, effects and heat increases. In the preliminary round there were 16 infusions per day every 45 minutes, and the showdown was on Saturday. On Sunday the winners had another drink in the so-called Satama Theater. There is space for up to 180n guests at once!

The World Cup was a hot affair: the infusion temperature was up to 85 degrees during the performances. But the cooling down was practically at hand. “We are lucky that you can go into the lake here,” said the World Cup president.

According to Splanemann Du Chesne, who was also a member of the jury, the World Cup was sold out every day: of the around 400 daily guests, around half came from abroad.
