De Telegraaf has sent a reporter to Volendam to gauge the mood there: who supports Jan Smit and who is in Monique Smit’s camp? “It only gives her sympathy.”

It is incredibly sad how Jan Smit tries to screw his very own sister Monique Smit: the two have been at odds with each other privately for years, and now he is taking revenge by hitting her in the wallet. Jan’s label owns many of Monique’s Sinterklaas songs, and he has had them all taken offline. Of course you can’t go any lower.

Smitjes Circus

The dike of Volendam is completely torn apart by this Smitjes row and to gauge the mood, De Telegraaf has now even sent a reporter there (see the fragment below). “The village reality has officially gotten out of hand,” says the juice channel Juice Channel. “And Jan, of course, is all over the piss.”

The channel continues: “All those backstage stories about his attitude are now coming to the surface and the gentleman cannot stand that his carefully built image is crumbling. But yes, this whole circus started when we dropped that he had Monique boycotted the Music Festival.”

Doom

Jan would keep Monique out of the Music Festival on the Square. “Since then he has kept going, as if he were writing the script for his own downfall,” he said. “But the best part is that he pushes people so hard towards team Monique and they only get sympathy from it. While he is driving himself deeper into the ground every day.”

The channel continues: “Free promo for his sister, arranged by himself. And why? Because he has been vomiting on Monique since day one. Everything would have ‘come to her’ and she would have joined in the conversation about his cheating. But eh, that’s not gossip if it just happened.”

True nature

In retrospect, Jan may have been the evil genius in the breakup with Yolanthe Cabau, the channel thinks. “Yes, the new guest towel gate has officially started. And now that everyone is seeing Jan ‘in action’ more and more, people are suddenly starting to wonder whether it all actually happened as it was reported in the media.”

“At the time, Jan received a lot of sympathy. Poor, pathetic Jan and Yolanthe was supposedly the evil witch of the relationship. But now that his real nature is increasingly emerging, people think Hmm, maybe that story was different.”
