Who supported Máximo Kirchner’s project to sustain public works

Maximo Kirchner presented a bill to create the Federal Fund for National Developmentl, an initiative that proposes alternative financing for municipal and provincial works, in order to remedy the lack of resources that would come from the government of Javier Milei.

The project aims to finance works “that contribute to the improvement of health, educational, hospital, housing or road infrastructure in urban or rural areas,” according to what it says.

In addition to the main author, it bears the signature of a part of the K block in Deputies: Carlos Heller, Emiliano Estrada, Gabriela Estévez, Blanca Osuna, Graciela Parola, Mario “Paco” Manrique, Pablo Carro, Tanya Bertoldi, Paula Penacca, Christian Alejandro Zulli, Sergio Palazzo, Carolina Yutrovic, Itai Hagman and Julia Strada.

As detailed in the proposal, “The Federal Fund will be financed with 60% of the total collected as export duties on soybeans, in all its varieties and their derivatives.”

It wasn’t all praise for Máximo, not even from his own party. The mayor of San Antonio de Areco, Paco Durañona, criticized him: “Unusual. We did not do it during the 4 years of the Fernández Government, despite having been a demand of many of us to promote local roots and development, but it occurred to us to do it now, ”he said. And he concluded: “Not serious and contradictory.”.
