Who is the Argentine producer behind the new Broadway hit

With the protagonist of Oscar Isaac and Rachel Brosnahanwinners of the Golden Globe, “The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window”, the work of Lorraine Hansberry, is the new sensation of broadwaythe New York theater mecca where it will be presented for only 10 weeks (it had its preview on April 25 and its premiere on Thursday the 27th) at the James Earl Jones Theater.

And it has among its producers the Argentine Diego Kolankowskiwinner of the Tony, who already produced on Broadway the musicals “One on this island“, “spring awakening” and “beetlejuice“, among others, and returns with this work after the sensation of “American Buffalo”, by David Mamet, which featured an all-star cast: Laurence FishburneTony winner and known for his role as Morpheus in The Matrix; sam rockwell, winner of the Oscar for best supporting actor for “Three commercials for a crime”; and Darren Crisswon an Emmy for his role in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace.”

Directed by Anne Kauffmann, “The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window” transports you to Greenwich Village in the 1960s, portraying a diverse group of friends whose progressive dreams don’t quite mesh with reality. At the center are Sidney and Iris Brustein (Isaac and Brosnahan), struggling to see if their marriage, with all its wit, passion and cruelty, can survive Sidney’s ideals.

Kolankowsky, producer and media creative, film and theater, and director of DK Group International, is on his way to the decade won on Broadwaywhere he won the Tony Award for Best Musical Revival with “Once on this Island”, and adds recognition after the production of “Gettin’ the Band Back Together” and “Ohio State Murders”.
