Who benefits from summer break Op1? ‘Renze and Hélène unfortunately not’

The talk show Op1 went on an unplanned summer break and quite a few TV viewers are adrift, because replacement Silent Witness is a ratings drama. Do Renze Klamer and Hélène Hendriks benefit?

Due to bumblebees behind the scenes, the talk show Op1 went on summer break unplanned. BNNVARA left the program furiously and the three remaining broadcasters believe that a restyling of the decor is now necessary. In other words: no talk show on the public broadcaster this summer. Ridiculous, say critics.

Op1 viewer adrift

Tina Nijkamp sees Op1 top bobo Bert Huisjes as the instigator of evil. A revealing article has been written in de Volkskrant about the authoritarian way in which he leads the program, as a result of which several people have left the talk show and one broadcaster has already dropped out.

According to her, it is therefore due to Bert’s behavior that the late evening of NPO 1 is now in the doldrums: Op1 replacement Silent Witness did not reach more than 365 thousand viewers (13 percent market share) last night, which means that there are less than half million TV viewers have gone adrift.

Where have they gone?

Where have all those Op1 viewers gone? They seem to have disappeared into a kind of Bermuda Triangle. The competing talk shows of Renze Klamer and Hélène Hendriks win nothing. Tina: “You would think that without Op1 both talk shows would benefit, because viewers are looking for current events, but that is not really the case at the moment.”

Renze attracted 655 thousand viewers (19 percent) last night and Hélène’s Oranjezomer had 743 thousand (17 percent). “Hart van Nederland, which, like Renze, is always right opposite Op1, does not really benefit either, but it is the final winner at 10:30 p.m. with 673 thousand viewers.”

Bert’s Dom

Tina finds it incredible that the failure of one man has caused such a viewing catastrophe on NPO 1. “Wondering how Bert Huisjes looks at these figures. He will think: how could this have gotten so out of hand and how could I have handled it differently? Exactly one year ago, Op1 scored 754 thousand viewers in that spot.”

And now there are only 365 thousand of them left. Painful…
