Six Peronist community leaders will take leave starting December 10 to join the Buenos Aires Legislature. The decision is part of a strategy that combines territorial continuity and parliamentary presence, and that will be repeated in different parts of the suburbs and the interior of the province.
In Almirante Brown, Mariano Cascallares will once again request a license, as he already did in his previous time in the Legislature. The municipality will once again be in the hands of Juan Fabiani, who already replaced him when the mayor held a seat between 2021 and 2023.
In Quilmes, Mayra Mendoza will also request a license to take office as a provincial deputy. His replacement will be Councilor Eva Mieri, a figure he trusts and a central part of his political team in the district.
In José C. Paz, Mario Ishii will leave his position to join the Buenos Aires Senate. The administration will be in charge of Roberto Caggiano, leader of the same space and a regular member of its local structure.
In Exaltación de la Cruz, Diego Nanni prepares his landing in the Chamber of Deputies. To do so, it must obtain approval from the Deliberative Council, where it does not have its own majority and needs to negotiate the votes to enable its license.
In Daireaux, Alejandro Acerbo will also take leave to take office in the provincial lower house. The municipal government will remain in the hands of Francisco Etchepare, a member of his team and part of the local scheme that supports him.
In Alberti, Germán Lago will complete the list of mayors who will make the leap to the Legislature. His replacement will be Eva Caputo, who will occupy the mayor’s office while he joins the Peronist bloc in Deputies.
With these movements, Buenos Aires Peronism rearranges its political map. The licenses allow mayors to preserve their local influence while occupying new positions in La Plata, in a balance that has become common in the political dynamics of the province.
