White House wedding: Joe Biden’s granddaughter gets married | Abroad

Naomi Biden, 28, a lawyer, and her fiancé, 25-year-old Peter Neal, took their wedding vows Saturday at the White House in Washington, according to The New York Times. Later there was another gala dinner.

According to the White House Historical Association, it is not uncommon for the White House to be the setting for a wedding. For example, the daughter of Richard Nixon married there in 1971. Just like the wedding of Pete Souza, Barack Obama’s official photographer, in 2013. There have already been eighteen weddings in the White House in total and four receptions following a wedding.

The White House Press Service was sparse on the event because it was a private event.

Biden also celebrates his eightieth birthday on Sunday.
