The whitefly, or actually the white aphid, is a pest on Danny Metsu’s agricultural plot in Vlamertinge. The bugs suck the sap from the cabbage leaves and this weakens the plant. Farmer Danny Metsu says that the plague is advancing rapidly: “It is a phenomenon from France. West Flanders is already seriously infected with it, but it is advancing further.”
