The Flemish Parliament unanimously approved the whistleblower scheme on Wednesday. Staff members of the Flemish government and local authorities who bring abuses or corruption to the public will no longer have to fear being fired in the future, says Flemish Minister of the Interior Bart Somers (Open Vld).
