‘Where is Ruud de Wild?’

Olcay Gulsen stormed out of Amsterdam court yesterday, furious. She walked angrily between the camera crews of RTL and SBS. “Why doesn’t Ruud de Wild support her?”

Olcay Gulsen and financial hassles go hand in hand. In 2019, she came under fire for alleged fraud surrounding the bankruptcy of her fashion brand SuperTrash. RTL Z caused big news by revealing that just before the bankruptcy, Olcay quickly tried to declare an invoice of 18,000 euros for the repair of her private car.

Olcay and financial hassle

It received a lot of criticism, because Olcay knew very well how many suppliers were still waiting for their money at the time. There was a huge argument about it in RTL Boulevard, where Olcay was approached quite critically by her own colleagues. Peter R. de Vries was also in the studio and, as an advisor to Olcay, got into a huge argument with Mark Koster.

A year later it turned out that Olcay was accused of maladministration by the curator. If she did not agree to a settlement of 120,000 euros, there would be a lawsuit. With a lucrative contract with Talpa, the presenter opted for eggs for her money. “For me, this issue is resolved,” she said at the time.

Furious along RTL and SBS

Olcay was in court yesterday, but for a different case. Her ex-mother-in-law has statements that show that she has transferred 100,000 euros to Olcay with the description ‘loan’. The presenter would have borrowed this money because her company SuperTrash was in dire straits.

What a liar, says Olcay. She claims to have lent money to the ex-mother-in-law and that this concerns a repayment. That’s just not there. One thing is certain: Olcay does not want to say anything about it to RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws. She stormed out of court yesterday and ran straight through the two camera crews.

‘She didn’t feel like it’

Olcay exasperated: “Everything I wanted to say I just said in court. Can I pass?”

RTL Boulevard host Luuk Ikink: “She really didn’t feel like it today, perhaps understandable. She actually wanted all of this behind closed doors, but the judge did not allow that in the end.”

Rob Goossens: “I would say: if you are so convinced that you are being screwed in this case, then you don’t have to react so critically, do you?”

Luuk: “Well, of course she doesn’t want this at all. It’s also a blot on her name, of course.”

‘Where’s Ruud?’

Albert Verlinde now understands that Olcay is really angry, but initially thought it was unsportsmanlike that she did not want to respond. “I thought: how silly that is, because she has worked for Boulevard and for Shownieuws. You would think: those are programs I talk to, because I was part of them myself,” he says in Shownieuws.

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker mainly wonders where her beloved Ruud de Wild is. “What I do find remarkable: I do not know Ruud de Wild’s agenda, but he was not there. Just when your wife is so emotional and feels so bad about it, you would still think: I’ll drop everything I have to do, I’m there for my wife. He wasn’t there.”
