When will the Oscar nominations be announced?

The award season has already begun. This is the name of the time when the most important film awards are presented. This year the dates are a little different due to the Hollywood strikes, so it’s not quite as easy to keep track of the most important dates.

Most people probably know when the Oscars will take place: March 10th. But before the coveted gold statues are awarded, there are a few other milestones in the calendar.

We’re talking about the 2024 Oscar nominations. This year, too, it will be one of those unpredictable, decidedly brittle television programs lasting no more than 20 minutes, which, without any tension, raises the curtain on some of the biggest fights to be seen in showbiz gives.

Oscar nomination 2024: date

We don’t know who the moderators will be yet, but it’s already clear that the nominations will be announced on January 23rd.

In December, the Academy’s various departments held a preliminary vote to determine the candidates for each category. There are Oscar shortlists for Documentary, Best Original Song, Best Foreign Language Film and several more. The rest will be voted on from January 11th to January 16th. Once the final nominations are announced, another round of voting will take place from February 22nd to 27th.

Oscars 2024: “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” favorites

It’s no secret that “Barbie” by Greta Gerwig and “Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan are already considered favorites due to their good reviews and the audience interest last year, which was hardly thought possible. Martin Scorsese’s “Killers Of The Flower Moon”, the Emma Stone Festival’s “Poor Things” and the new edition of “The Color Purple” are also given good chances for numerous nominations.

As always, the Golden Globes provide a first indication of the direction in which the award rain could turn. They will take place on January 7th, 2024 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills (on January 8th at 2 a.m., but there will be no TV broadcast in Germany)
