Last year on Saturdays you regularly heard special stories from the makers of Today about the lives and ideas that lie behind current events. This week you can listen to some of them again.
Today Ruben Pest’s story about growing old in an aging Netherlands.
With her bed in the living room and a walker at her side, 95-year-old Mrs. Van den Boogaard just manages to live at home. She preferred to live with her husband in the nursing home around the corner. But the double aging of the population made her plans go up in smoke. What is it like to grow old in the Netherlands?
