The 37th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories in Hyères presented its ten finalists. The news of the fashion festival, which will take place from 13th to 16th October, also includes a new award from L’Atelier des Matières, as well as other prizes and partnerships.
Established in 2019, L’Atelier des Matières aims to give new life to unused materials and unsold finished products from the fashion and luxury goods industries. For the first time, L’Atelier des Matières is partnering with the festival for its 37th edition. The first prize of the Atelier des Matières is awarded to the winner of the fashion competition for the creation of a silhouette using the materials provided by the atelier. The models designed by the ten finalists will be presented in two special fashion shows and in the festival showrooms. A selection of fabrics and leathers worth 10,000 euros from the Atelier des Matières will be made available to the winner.
The Grand Prix of the Première Vision
The Confédération Européenne du Lin et du Chanvre (European Flax and Hemp Association, CELC) enters into an official partnership with the Festival de Hyères. The grand prize aims to enable the development of ecologically responsible collections. The CELC would like to make it easier for creative people to access textile innovations with European linen and hemp, to closely support the finalists in their procurement and to provide fabrics for the creation of their collections.
Icicle, owned by the Franco-Chinese group ICCF, which also owns Carven, among other things, invites the winner of the Grand Prix du Jury Première Vision to design a capsule collection within the brand’s responsible values. The collection will be presented at the Hyères Festival 2023 and distributed through the international Icicle network.
Galeries Lafayette return as official partner of the festival, teaming up for the first time with the Grand Prix du Jury Première Vision. The department store will invite the award winner(s) to design a capsule collection that embodies the values of inclusivity and access to creation.
