What is there to do in Drenthe this weekend?

The weekend is upon us again. It seems to remain quite mild, with temperatures around 8 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday it will be cloudy and there may be a shower, Sunday it will remain dry and sun and clouds alternate.

Theater association Erica from Wilhelminaoord will perform on Saturday with the farce ‘A treasure of a bust’ written by Aad Caspers. The play in three acts is played in Ons Dorpshuis in Wilhelminaoord. Starts at 8 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m. Presale tickets 6 euros (7.50 euros at the door). SMC de Stoomfluit organizes a model railway fair for enthusiasts of model railways and everything that goes with it. There are items for sale and demonstrations with different models.

Last week it was announced that almost a quarter of young people question the Holocaust. That’s why De Duikelaar museum in hiding is organizing a free guided walk for young people on Saturday. Walk along hiding houses, to the hiding place in the woods. The guide tells the story of Max and Thea and what happened to them during the war. Saturday, February 4 at 3 p.m. Meet at the Divers Museum De Duikelaar, Julianalaan 3 Nieuwlande. Free.

The amateur painters of the Stichting Nachtwacht van Emmen set to work reproducing the many self-portraits that Vincent van Gogh produced during his relatively short life. The intention is that these portraits will go on a tour through the municipalities of Coevorden, Emmen and Hoogeveen as part of the Van Gogh Drenthe project. But until then they can be seen in the Savanne building in the Rensenpark – the former Noorderdierenpark – in the center of Emmen. Saturday 13:00-17:00

On Sunday afternoon, musicians from various musical styles will perform in 18 “living rooms” in the center of Hoogeveen. From classical to jazz, from wind ensemble to pop music. All musicians lend their cooperation selflessly. The proceeds go to the Food Bank Hoogeveen – Southwest Drenthe. Sunday 14.00-17.00, tickets at the door 10 euros, online 8.50 euros. The Zuidlaarder Winterloopje will be held for the second time on Sunday in the center of Zuidlaren. Ten local catering establishments will show what they have in store between 2 and 5 pm. With a strip card (29.50) you can go there for surprising dishes and drinks.

Experience the Sleenerzand in the dark and challenge your senses. Walk with the Staatsbosbeheer guide through this varied area, from open heathland to dark forest. By removing the artificial light, you experience nature much more intensely. The silence makes you more alert to sounds and your senses are fully on!
