What do you think: KNMI’s weather codes are unnecessarily frightening

The KNMI warns of storm Dudley that will pass over the Netherlands today and tomorrow. The weather institute has issued a code yellow.

Code yellow means as much as: watch out, risk of dangerous weather. Code orange is already a bit more serious and with code red it is better not to go on the road. In recent years, the KNMI regularly issues a weather code in the event of an approaching storm or winter weather such as snow and sleet. The idea behind it is that everyone can then prepare and possibly decide to stay at home.

What do you think?

It also happens regularly that everything is not so bad in the end with the dangerous weather. Do you agree that the KNMI regularly issues weather codes or is it exaggerated in your opinion, because the consequences are usually not too bad?
