Farmers continue the protests at several distribution centers. In Drenthe, those of the Jumbo in Beilen and the Coop in Gieten are still blocked. The protests started yesterday morning. The CBL says it fears millions of euros of damage as a result. Empty shelves were already visible in various supermarkets yesterday.

The centers are also still blocked in Nijkerk, Raalte, Oosterhout and Almere. Farmers have spent the night there, in front of the door.

The ME took action in some places yesterday to put an end to the protests, including in Sneek, Zwolle and Heerenveen. In the latter place tear gas was used.

Farmers called the action at the distribution centers themselves ‘a warning’. “If the government implements this nitrogen plan, we will see more empty shelves,” said farmer Sanne Ezendam from Pesse.
