Franzsika Preuss at the mixed season

Status: 21.02.2025 5:23 p.m.

With Franziska Preuß as the best German biathlete at the top, the German women’s relay at the World Cup on medal hunt will take place on Saturday (22.02.2025) from 12.05 p.m. The men’s relay (3:05 p.m.) is led by Philipp Nawrath. Both competitions are available live in the first, at Sportschau.de and in the media library.

The four -time medalist Preuss starts as the final runner. The season over 4×6 kilometers is started on Saturday by Sophia Schneider, followed by Selina Grotian and Julia Tannheimer. The German quartet has good medal opportunities, even if the French are traded as top favorites.

Strelow not surprisingly not there

For men, Nawrath is the first to go into the race over 4×7.5 km. The 32-year-old was last struck and left out the individual. Danilo Riethmüller, Johannes Kühn and Philipp Horn also belong to the quartet as the final runner. Surprisingly, the bronze, which was decorated twice in mixed, was not taken into account, Justus Strelow, who was last placed in position one in the men’s relay.

The German men’s quartet has been waiting for a relay medal since Bronze 2020 in major events. Last year it was enough in Nove Mesto with Strelow, Kühn, Nawrath and Benedikt Doll, who had now resigned. In this World Cup season, it only worked once with the podium in four races. France won all seasons of winter – and thus sustainably broke the dominance of the Norwegians.
