West Ham United will have to do without Niclas Füllkrug (31) in the coming weeks. The German international was substituted after just 15 minutes due to injury in the English first division team’s 2-1 defeat in the third round of the FA Cup at league rivals Aston Villa.

The “BBC” initially reported that there was a suspicion of a strain in his thigh, but according to “Sky” information from Sunday, the 31-year-old suffered a torn tendon. The latter results in an outage lasting at least three months. The Premier League club released an official statement a short time later and confirmed that Füllkrug would be out for several weeks due to a thigh injury.

In the early stages of the season, Füllkrug was missing from several games for the club due to an irritated Achilles tendon. The former Dortmund player, who moved to London for 27 million euros in the summer, recently scored his second goal in the English upper house in a 4-1 defeat against Manchester City. So far, however, he has only made nine league appearances for West Ham.

For this reason, and because coach Julen Lopetegui was recently released, Füllkrug was repeatedly linked with a change in the winter. However, it is questionable whether the rumored interested parties such as Eintracht Frankfurt or Juventus will make a concrete offer in view of the injury.
