West Flemish gynaecologist who used his own sperm for artificial fertilization is the first known case in Belgium, but not abroad

The West Flemish gynecologist Geert V. (70) has used his own sperm for artificial inseminations in Torhout’s Sint-Rembert hospital for years. Four donor children are now linked to the doctor. It is a first in our country, but certainly not abroad. Five similar cases have already come to light in the Netherlands. The best known is that of Jan Karbaat, who fathered about ninety donor children with his own sperm. About as much as American fertility specialist Donald Cline.
